My Become A Legend Tips

Hi guys, I thought I would share my tips for BAL with you all as when I actually play the game it is the mode I play the most. First of I have to say it is not a mode for everyone as you have much less control than other modes, but I love it & have hardly touched the other game modes since it was introduced in PES 2009. I always start out as a AM, as you get to attack a lot without being stuck up front like when you play as a CF.

Use Player Cam
Personally I have always used the player cam as it makes the game feel different & makes it more of a challenge. It can take a while to get used to, but with practice it is great as you really feel part of the action. When you start out & when you sign for a new team you need to rely on the pitch map to see where to pass, but after a while you can play "blind" passes as you know the runs your teammates will make.

Difficulty
I play on Superstar for the challenge, your teammates will play to Professional skill level on Professional or below, but on Top Player they will play to Top Player & on Superstar they play to Superstar.

Don't Transfer All The Time
The longer you spend at one club the more your teammates will get used to you & play more intelligently. If you keep moving clubs every 6 or 12 months your teamwork stat will take a hit & this means your teammates are more likely to play bad passes or not pass at all. Personally I never move in January as I find it hard to break into the 1st team & it always seems like a waste of half a season.

Don't Call For Passes
I have found that when you call for passes your teammates will make stupid passes to find you, instead try & get yourself into space & they will pass to you anyway most of the time, especially after you have proved yourself. Sometimes you will still find yourself charging into the box & don't receive the cross you would expect but that is just like real football.

Think Before Accepting A Transfer
Before transferring to a new club check their formation, if you are a WF & they don't play with one, then you will find yourself on the bench & being played out of position when you do get to play. Try to learn more positions so you have more options.

Don't Be Too Selfish
Although it can be frustrating to play a teammate in only for them to miss, it helps with teamwork if you keep at it, & if you do it enough you will reap the rewards.

Use R2
In PES 2013 pressing R2 just before receiving a pass makes it easier to control the ball, this is especially when you 1st start out & may have poor ball control, practice in training mode to learn how to use it.

That's about all I can think of at the moment, although I will edit this as I think of more things. I finished my second season yesterday playing for NEC Nijmegen, I will give them 1 more season I think before making my 1st transfer, unless something good comes up in August.

Hope you all find this useful, Paul

  2. I will use it sparingly, just fed up being caught offside with late passes!

    1. A good season mate, Benfica could be interesting, but a 2nd season at NEC would probably be best to play more matches

  5. I also play BAL and I just deserved a transfer to AC Milan after I made a difficult start at Pescara. I transfered to Bayern Leverkusen after a year so. Earned a place in the starting line-up, and played well the first year and a half. I felt that it was impossible to keep me for them so I went one step higher to FC Ausburg. The first whole season that I played I became topscorer and assistleader at the end of the season and Milan noticed it. My stats where flying because I bought different Items wich I used to train with between matchdays. For example: I use light weights and shotaccuracy to improve these stats. The week after that I use the mini goal and long pass accuracy. The boots that you get from being man of the match, can make you stronger and faster. In combination with the Items offcourse. At this moment my stats are at 80 without Items and with them I stand on a 86. And my player is only 20 years old. My tip: use the Adidas F50 in combination with shotpower and technique. Use the other Items between matchdays. Hope you can use this info. Gilli from Rotterdam

    1. Sounds like your doing well mate & the training tips are good. I'm up to about 68 OVR at the end of the 2nd season, it seems much easier to boost your stats this year.

  9. hello there... impressive review, thanks ~~

would like to ask, should i go for playing time (chance) or training focus points? cos, for eg, i got a transfer to Newcastle, i have 27 training focus pts in total, but i ca'nt get onto the pitch (yet, england national team finds me, weird bug)
but, if i go to Nice or Williem II etc, i can play, yet only hav a total of ~18-22 training focus pts

which one is better? playing on pitch, or train more for a few seasons 1st?? thanks !!!

    1. Hi mate, it would pretty close between hardly playing with 27fp & always playing with 18fp. If it was 22/18 I would say to go with the 18 & always playing.

Have you already signed for Newcastle? or have you just received a offer saying you will have limited chances?

      Delete
    2. haha sadly i've already signed, but anyway, after half a season on the bench (i signed in jan), they didn't offer me any contract extensions so i hav to leave for France's Nice now...

i dunno, fm my progression graph, i could tell there's an approxiamate increase of 10 pts in my ability per year... provided tht i play for a PES league team in the 1st season, sweasea(not playing) in the 2nd, & williem II / Newcastle(not playing) in the 3rd. I'm an SS, overall ~70 now, but my speeds are ~86 already, which would allow me to score quite a no of goals.

I always wanna play in England, hopefully progress in a smaller club like Sweasea, but after not accepting their contract offer during the season, they're not offering me anth by season end. Pity~

The bug seems weird too, i'm not even on the bench at Newscastle, but i make the starting line up of England !!

Anyway, wish i could have a successful season at Nice !!

      Delete
    3. It could be your position, not many teams play with a SS so if you sign you will sit on the bench a lot unless you have any other positions.

You will be getting picked for the NT as if you have already done well for the NT your manager rating will be high so you will keep getting picked :)

    4. yes right... i think so too!! Prob a bad choice to hav chosen SS, will try FC in another game later!!

Finally got picked by Everton andin their starting lineup now, after half a season at Nice... Getting on well with Jelavic! LOL

    5. Just train to be a CF or AM on your current game, it's always good to have more than one option

      Delete
    6. Dont really wanna be AM, though i enjoy playing it in real person LOL... find it always hard to get a high rating in games, but for CF, u just need to score~~ just sharing, thx for the advice anyway :)

      Delete
  10. Fair enough, I usually start as a AM, then train SS a second position as most teams play with one or the other

    1. Hi mate, getting into the NT for a team like England can be tough as they have a lot of good players. All I can suggest is keep up the good play & moving to a team that is highly ranked will give you a better chance of being selected.

I know in the original BAL I started this year I wasn't getting picked no matter what, but I transferred to Werder who were ranked in the top 50 teams & before I had even played for them I was called up for England.

  13. hi there mate...ive been playing bal for 3 seasons now at wolfsburg...scoring plenty as a cf...and i just got world footballer of the year...but i havent even had one transfer offer yet...so do you actually get them come in?...or do you have to go to club search and just pick and choose your moves? thanks

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They will come in automatically, a better agent helps. The other option is to use the club search option.

  14. do you know how we can use the money that the club gives as sallary? i mean except getting new agent... I have alot but i've only been able to put my GP into good use,i don't know what i can do with the money.

    1. Only for agents fees, it would be better if you could buy GP with it or even just do away with GP & use money to buy the upgrades instead.

Cant add facebook to the comment as list sorry, I can only use the option Google have.

      Delete
    2. first of all is there anyway to buy GP with my money? if there is how? and what do u mean by upgrades?

      Delete
    3. No there isn't mate, I was just saying it would be a good idea if they did at that option.

By upgrades I mean the things you can buy from the shop (training aids, extra positions, etc)

    2. A good 1st season mate.

There is no set rule to becoming captain, I have found that early in your career you need to have 2 or 3 good seasons at a club, although later in your career it can happen after one season.

  18. hey paul i am also the big fan of BLA but i don't know its not so much interesting that i expect because my player already awarded by UFEA best player as well as other awards and currently my player playing in AJAX but end of the season North east London offer me to transfer but i don't think this good because i am the caption of AJAX after joining January almost 6 month latter.
